Transforming Learning

The programme aims to Transform the learning experience for Fife’s young people and is part of Fife's Education commitment to improve outcomes. Core to the programme is the provision of a digital device for all learners from P6 to S6 across Fife which will also be an investment in their learning, their outcomes and their future.

At Auchmuty that means all learners will be given a brand new Apple iPad. The iPad should be brought to school each day charged and ready for use. The Acceptable Use policy and parental agreement can be found here -

Teachers already have their devices and learners will get their devices from 18th to 20th November. The Transforming Learning team have their own site which contains everything you need to know about the project. Please check the site before contacting the school with questions.

Accidental damage to an iPad

The Transforming Learning Fife programme provides an iPad to enhance and enrich the learning experience for children and young people in Fife. With the introduction of any technology, it is crucial that we emphasise the importance of responsible use and proper care.

In the event of accidental damage to an iPad, families will be asked for a contribution towards repair costs. These costs can vary depending on the severity of the damage and the specific repairs required. Should that iPad be beyond reasonable repair or be lost, then a contribution towards full replacement will be charged. These costs and repairs are consistent across all schools. See below for details.

JAMF Parent App - Parental control of the iPad

Parents/Carers can download the JAMF Parent app from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store and use the app to manage a learner device when at home. Read our guide using the link below which demonstrates how to do this.
