NPA Level 5 Costume Design
What will I learn in this subject?
This National Progression Award (NPA) in Costume Design introduces learners to techniques that are important in the costume design sector. It develops practical skills in sewing machine skills where learners will be taught how to use the sewing machine correctly for various construction techniques. The course explores how to take accurate body measurements and learn the basics of pattern construction to begin creating your own designs.
How will I be assessed?
The course will be assessed through 3 units:
Unit 1: Introduction to Sewing Machine Skills
Unit 2: Introduction to Garment Pattern Construction
Unit 3: Introduction to Surface Decoration
All 3 units must be completed in order to gain a qualification in NPA Costume Design Level 5.
